FIELD HOCKEY'S CONROY AND JIAO NAMED A-10 CONFERENCE PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA-Owls junior goalkeeper Erin Conroy and redshirt freshman forward Monica Jiao were named the Atlantic 10 Conference co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 21.

Conroy was spectacular this week combining to stop 31 of 34 shots for the week. She shares the award with La Salle's Sara Camilli. Conroy had 15 saves in a 3-2 win over Ball State and the next day posted 16 saves in a 1-0 loss to # 9 Iowa.

Jiao earned her second Rookie of the Week honor this season. She had the key assist on the game --winning goal in the Owls' 3-2 win over Ball State on Saturday, September 20.

Temple went 1-1 for the week and has an overall record of 4-4 with three of its four losses coming to teams ranked in the Top 10 in the nation #9 Iowa, #8 Penn State and #2 North Carolina.

The Owls will host Delaware on Wednesday, September 24 at 3:30 p.m.
