FIELD HOCKEY BLANKS RAMS, 1-0

PHILADELPHIA- Junior Jen Adamek scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute to lift the Temple field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Rhode Island in a must win situation for the Owls.  The Cherry and White's first A-10 win of the season, came on a cold and blustery afternoon at Geasey Field.The victory improves the Owls' record to 7-8, 1-2 in Atlantic 10 play while the Rams drop to 4-11, 1-2.

 

 Adamek scored off an assist from junior Rachel Barber after a mad scramble in front of the Rams' goal.

 

Temple senior Erin Conroy earned her second shutout of the season, posting 12 saves in the contest. Rhode Island keeper freshman M.J. Britt recorded seven saves.

 

Temple out-shot Rhode Island, 13-12, while each team had six penalty corner opportunities.

 

Next the Owls will host Drexel on Wednesday afternoon as Temple will honor its seniors in their last home game of the season. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
