PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University freshman Mark Tyndale has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 21. The 6-5 guard tallied 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished four assists, blocked two shots and made one steal over 34 minutes in his collegiate debut against Auburn at the Liacouras Center on November 19.

Tyndale scored the most points by an Owl newcomer in his collegiate debut since Vic Carstarphen also tallied 19 against Iowa on November 15, 1990. The Philadelphia native (Simon Gratz HS) connected on seven-of-15 from the field and four-of-nine from three-point range. His three-pointer with 23 seconds to play gave the Owls a brief 78-77 lead. Auburn would come back to win, 80-77.
