TEMPLE TO LOOK FOR NEW LEADERSHIP FOR FIELD HOCKEY PROGRAM
11.24.04 | Field Hockey
PHILADELPHIA - Temple University will look for new leadership for its field hockey program with the announcement that it will not renew the contract of head coach Lauren Fuchs. Under Fuchs, the Owls compiled a 102-140 won-loss record over her 12-year tenure at the school.
"We are greatful for Lauren's years of service with the Temple field hockey program and wish her well in the future," said Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw. "At this time, however, we feel it is best for the program to move in a different direction."
Fuchs led Temple to a 9-11 record in 2004, tying for third place in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Owls qualified for the A-10 Tournament for the ninth time in Fuchs' tenure, falling to eventual champion Richmond, 4-0, in the opening game. Temple won its only Atlantic 10 Conference title under Fuch in 1994.
