RUTH NAMED TO ALL-PHILADELPHIA TEAM

PHILADELPHIA - Junior back Talia Ruth was the only Temple player named to the All-Philadelphia team, announced today in voting conducted by coaches of the six Division I field hockey programs in the city. Already named to the All-Atlantic 10 and second team all-region teams, Ruth earns All-Philadelphia honors for the first time in her career.
A starter in all but one game this season, Ruth tied for the team lead in goals (four) and was second in scoring (eight points). Three of her four goals were game-winners, which placed her third in the conference. She also quarterbacked a backfield that sported a 2.36 GAA average, good for third in the Atlantic 10.
The Schwenksville, Pa. (Souderton HS) native joined 15 other players on the team. Penn's Lea Salese was named the most valuable player and was one of four Quakers on the team laong with Liz Lorelli, Melissa Black and Liz Schlossberg. The rest of the team included Nicole Antonini and Katelyn O'Brien (Saint Joseph's), Vanessa Pizzulli, Megan Foster and Rory Rogers (Villanova), Colleen Bolger, Sara Camilli, and Allison Geiger (La Salle), and Rachel Bloemker and Amanda Mouser (Drexel.)
Temple finished its season with a 9-11-0 record and 3-3-0 mark in the A-10. The Owls fell in conference semifinals to eventual league-champion, Richmond.
