2.6.04 | Men's Basketball
Temple (8-10, 3-5 in A-10 play)has won the last four meetings in the series, but will be looking for just its second back-to-back wins of the season. The Owls defeated Fordham at Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday as Hawkins tallied 22 of his 28 points in the second stanza to lead the come-from-behind win. The only time this season that the Cherry and White has posted consecutive wins came on December 13 and 15. The Owls defeated Penn State (67-56) and South Carolina (71-61), both at the Liacouras Center.
Besides Hawkins, who is currently riding a school-record streak of 13 straight 20-point games, the Owls have had strong play of late from sophomores Micheal Blackshear and Mardy Collins. Blackshear posted career highs in minutes (30), points (8), steals (5) and rebounds (13) at Fordham while Collins has tallied double figures in scoring in each of his last seven games.
St. Bonaventure (6-13, 2-6) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Unlike Temple, the Bonnies boast a balanced scoring attack with four players scoring in double figures. Besides Green, first-year head coach Anthony Solomon has Patrick Lottin (13.2 ppg.), Maurice Young (11.9 ppg.) and Ahmad Smith (10.3 ppg.) all contributing offensively.
