PHILADELPHIA - Temple University senior All-America candidate David Hawkins has been named the co-Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Hawkins, who earned his third Player of the Week award, shares the honor with Saint Joseph's Jameer Nelson, who was honored for a record eighth time.

The 6-5 guard averaged 29.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.3 steals in three games. Against Fordham on February 29, he had 16 points, seven boards, and three steals in a 74-60 win. He then tallied a career-high 41 points to go with seven rebounds and five steals as the Owls took a 98-92 double overtime decision from Massachusetts on Mar. 3. Hawkins scored Temple's final 17 points in the second overtime to become just the 10th player in A-10 history to score 2,000 career points. He capped his week by celebrating his Senior Day with a game-high 31 points as well as five rebounds in a 70-69 loss to Xavier on Mar. 6.

Nelson had 25 points, eight rebounds and six assists in an 82-50 win over St. Bonaventure on March 2. It was his only game of the week.
