DAVID HAWKINS NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-ATLANTIC 10 CONFERENCE

Hawkins, a second team All-America selection by CBSsportsline.com, led the Atlantic 10 with a 24.6 scoring average. The 6-5 guard also ranked third in the league in steals (2.70 per game) and second in three-pointers made (2.96 per game). He earned his third A-10 Player of the Week award on Sunday and was named National Player of the Week by ESPN.com's Dick Vitale on Monday.
A first team all-District selection by both the NABC and the USWBA, Hawkins is just the third Temple player and 10th in A-10 history to score 2000 points. He enters the A-10 tournament with 2,032 career points.
Hawkins was the lone Temple honoree at the awards banquet. The Owls (15-12) will play the winner of Fordham/Richmond opening round game on Thursday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m. The game can be seen on CN8 in the Philadelphia area and heard on WPHT 1210 AM.
