CINDY TINDALL ELEVATED TO FULL-TIME ASSISTANT FIELD HOCKEY COACH
9.1.04 | Field Hockey
PHILADELPHIA - Cindy Tindall, a graduate extern coach with the Temple University field hockey team since 2002, has been elevated to a full-time assistant. She takes over the position from Jennifer Rinella, who will serve as the program's volunteer assistant this season.
"Elevating Cindy to full-time status was an easy decision," stated Temple head coach Lauren Fuchs. "She has worked hard as a member of the staff the last two seasons, and it makes for an easy transition for the players."
Prior to her arrival at Temple, Tindall was a standout collegiate field hockey player at Lehigh University ('02). At Lehigh, she earned regional All-America honors as a junior and senior and was a three-time all-Patriot League selection (1999-2001). Also as a senior, Tindall was named a NFHCA Division I All-Star and honored as the Lehigh Field Hockey Athlete of the Year.
A leader on the field, she served as team captain her senior season. In addition, Tindall won the 2001-02 Female Leadership Award, demonstrating her ability to motivate fellow teammates. She was also a member of the Student Athletic Council, the secretary of the Student-Athlete Executive Board and the recipient of the 2001-02 ECAC Merit Award.
A native of Tabernacle, N.J. (Shawnee HS), Tindall graduated cum laude from Lehigh with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics. She has been a Junior Olympics coach for two years and a USFHA Futures coach for four years. She recently completed her Master's of Education degree in Sport and Recreation Administration from Temple in August, 2004.
