Fairfield, CT - Maine senior forward Tracey Rainone scored the lone goal of the game 27:10 into the contest to give Maine a 1-0 win over Temple at Fairfield's University Field.
It was the second consecutive shutout for the Bears and raised their record to 4-2, while the Owls dropped their third consecutive game and sport a record of 2-3.
Senior goalkeeper Erin Conroy had eight saves, while the Bears keeper Jamie Morin posted four saves. Maine out-shot the Owls, 11-3, and held a 6-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Temple (2-3) will meet Fairfield (1-4) on Sunday at noon. Fairfield lost 3-0 to Maine on Friday September 10 at Fairfield.
