Fairfield, Conn.- Junior co-captain Talia Ruth scored the lone goal of the game on a penalty corner as the Temple field hockey team snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon at University Field. The win levels the Owls' record at 3-3 while Fairfield's record drops to 1-5.
Ruth scored 22:10 into the contest off assists from freshman Ashley Bird and sophomore Lindsay Holman.
Temple senior goalkeeper Erin Conroy had two saves and earned her first shutout of the season, while Fairfield keeper Lauren Callahan posted five saves.
The Owls out-shot Fairfield, 10-2 and also held a 7-2, advantage in penalty corners.
Temple will visit Penn State on Wednesday September 15 at 5.pm.
