NO.19 PENN STATE DEFEATS FIELD HOCKEY, 4-0

University Park, Pa.- The Temple field hockey team facing its second Top 20 team of the season in # 19 Penn State came up short losing 4-0 on Wednesday evening at Penn State's Bigler Field. The Nittany Lions' Shaun Banta scored two goals and Natalie Berrena posted two assists. Banta scored the only goal of the first half at the 29:44 mark.

The Owls playing their usual rugged non-conference schedule are playing their third of a five straight road games. Temple is 1-2 so far on its road test. Two of Temple's four losses have been to Top 20 teams (#13 American and #19 Penn State). The win raises the Nittany Lions' record to 2-4, while the Owls' record drops to 3-4 on the season.

Owls senior goalie Erin Conroy had 19 saves in the contest.

Penn State out-shot the Owls, 28-5 and also held an 11-4, advantage in penalty corners.

Temple (3-4) will continue on the road taking on Rutgers on Sunday (Sept 19); the start time is schedule for 1 p.m.
