BOWERS POWERS FIELD HOCKEY PASTS RUTGERS, 2-1

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Junior Caitlyn Bowers scored the game-winning goal 41:03 into the contest lifting Temple to a 2-1 victory over Rutgers on Sunday afternoon at Rutgers' Stadium Complex. The win raised the Owls' record to 4-4, while Rutgers' record dropped to 3-5 overall.
Scarlet Knights senior Courtney Hudson opened the scoring 7:38 into the contest .
Owls senior Andrea Duva tied the score 10:45 into the game at 1-1 on an assist by junior Jen Adamek. The score remained tied 1-1 at intermission. Bowers scored the winner at the 41:03 mark evening the Owls record to 2-2 on their current four game road stand.
Temple senior goalkeeper Erin Conroy had four saves, while Rutgers netminder Kristen Van Rouj also posted four saves.
Next Temple (4-4) will end its five game road trip by meeting Delaware on September 22 ; the start time is schedule for 7.p.m.
