ST. LOUIS, MO  -- The Temple (8-8, 3-0) field hockey team extended its winning streak to four games Friday afternoon following a 1-0 blanking of Saint Louis (6-8, 1-2).  In maintaining their unblemished conference record and improving their overall mark to .500, the Owls' fourth straight win marks their longest streak of the season.

 

While 65 minutes of the Atlantic 10 contest went without a goal, Owls' senior co-captain and midfielder Jen Adamek broke the scoring silence with the game's decisive tally at the 65:49 mark.  Adamek's goal, her first in 2005, was assisted by junior Lindsay Holman. With a 10-4 advantage in penalty corners, the Owls' offense peppered Billikens' goalkeeper Amy Wasserman for 11 shots on goal.

 

Owls' freshman goalkeeper Erin Hanshue stopped two shots on the way to her fourth shutout of the season.

 

Wasserman, a Billikens' sophomore, saved ten shots.

 

The Owls' continue their weekend-long road trip Sunday afternoon versus #20 Richmond at noon.
