LOKEY NAMED OWLSPORTS.COM ATHLETE OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER

PHILADELPHIA -- Sophomore field hockey player Alli Lokey has been selected owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for October. Lokey, a 2005 all-Atlantic 10 Tournament selection, was a contributing force in the team's run of seven wins in their final eight contests. The Owls finished the year with their best conference mark (6-1) since the program's first Atlantic 10 season in 1989 and earned the Conference's second seed.

In the season's final month, Lokey, the club's points' leader (22), totaled 13 points on six goals and one assist. The sophomore's two goals against West Chester (10/7) was part of a three-game stretch in which she posted four goals and nine points.

First-year head coach Amanda Janney stressed Lokey's ability to create and contribute from the middle of the field.

"Alli is a phenomenal athlete who had a great month to make our attack more dangerous and to help us be so successful in the A10," boasted Janney.
