PHILADELPHIA - Individual game tickets for the 2005-06 Temple University men's and women's basketball teams go on sale Friday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Liacouras Center Box Office. Individual game tickets, other than the men's basketball team's game against Duke on February 25 at the Wachovia Center, will also be available for purchase online at www.liacourascenter.com or by calling 1-888-OWLS-TIX. Individual tickets sales for the Owls game against top-ranked Duke will go on sale December 1.
The Temple men's basketball team, under the direction of Hall of Fame coach John Chaney, opens its 2005-06 season at the Liacouras Center against Army on November 15 (7:00 p.m.) as part of the NIT Season Tip-off. The men's team also hosts Miami (Nov. 27), Alabama (Dec. 10), South Carolina (Dec. 22) and Maryland (Jan. 28) in non-conference action at the Liacouras Center.
The two-time defending Atlantic 10 Conference champion Temple women's basketball team opens its 2005-06 home slate against city-rival Drexel on November 19 (7:00 p.m.). Head coach Dawn Staley, the A-10 Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005, has put together a Chaney-like schedule for her squad. Her Owls will host fifth-ranked Georgia (Dec. 19) and top-ranked Tennessee (Dec. 28) along with highly-regarded Florida (Dec. 3) and Villanova (Dec. 22) in non-conference contests at the Liacouras Center. The game with Villanova will be a double-header with the men's team (South Carolina).
