12.20.05 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University has moved the start time of its January 4 game against #13 George Washington to 6:00 p.m. The game, which will be played at the Liacouras Center, was originally scheduled to commence at 8:00 p.m. which would be in direct competition with the NCAA College Football National Championship game between #1 USC and #2 Texas.
"As a courtesy to our fans who would like to be able to come out and support our men's basketball team and also watch the National Championship football game we decided to move the start time of our game against George Washington," said Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw.
The Owls game with the Colonials was originally scheduled to be televised live by CN8. Due to the change in time, CN8 will not be able to air the contest.
Temple (5-3) next hosts South Carolina (7-2) on Thursday night (8:00 p.m.) in the second game of a doubleheader with its women's team. The #25 Temple women host Villanova at 5:30 p.m.
