MARDY COLLINS EARNS FIFTH A-10/BIG 5 PLAYER OF WEEK HONOR

PHILADELPHA -- Junior All-America Candidate Mardy Collins has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending March 5. Collins picked up his fifth Player of the Week honor from both leagues, the most by any player this season.
The 6-6 point guard averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists to help the Owls to a 1-1 record for the week. Collins led Temple with a team-high 18 points in a 65-57 loss at Rhode Island on March 2. He followed that with game highs of 28 points and 10 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season, in the team's regular season finale, a 73-67 win over La Salle on March 5 at the Liacouras Center.
For the season, Collins leads the Owls in scoring (18.0 ppg.), rebounding (5.7 rpg.), assists (3.7 apg.) and steals (2.9 spg.).
