PHILADELPHIA -- Semaj (Seh-MAHJ) Inge, a 6-4, 180-pound guard out of Woodrow Wilson (N.J.) High, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Temple University, announced Owls' head coach John Chaney.

"I was extremely impressed when I first saw Semaj play," stated Chaney. "I was even more impressed with his demeanor off the court. His character is impeccable, having been raised by a tremendous mother and father. We are excited to have him join the Temple family.

"As far as his level of play goes, we expect him to make an immediate contribution to this year's team, becoming part of an already strong guard rotation. He will not only make us a much better team in 2005-06, but will be a significant part of the future of Temple basketball."

A First Team All-South Jersey selection by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Inge averaged 20.7 points and 7.0 assists per game in leading Woodrow Wilson to a 16-8 record as a senior. The combination guard also was a first team all-Olympic Conference performer.

Inge joins a Temple team that returns 10 of 11 lettermen from the 2004-05 squad that finished the season with a 16-14 record. The Cherry and White also extended its school-record postseason streak to 22 straight seasons with a trip to the National Invitation Tournament.

Inge, who will play Tuesday night for the Sonny Hill All-Stars in the championship game of the Donofrio Classic held at the Fellowship House of Conshohocken (7:30 p.m.), joins 6-10, 220-pound forward/center Sergio Olmos, who signed with Temple during the early signing period, as newcomers for the 2005-06 season.
