MARDY COLLINS NAMED NABC FIRST TEAM ALL-BIG 5

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University junior Mardy Collins was named First Team all-Philadelphia Big 5 at the Herb Good Annual Awards Banquet held at Colleen's on the Parkway Monday evening.

Collins, who earned First Team all-Atlantic 10 Conference honors during the 2004-05 season, led the Owls in scoring (17.5 ppg.), rebounding (5.9 rpg.), assists (3.6 apg.) and steals (2.7 spg.). The Owl point guard had been named Player of the Week by both the Big 5 and the A-10 five times during the season.

Joining Collins on the first team was Geasey Award winner (Big 5 MVP) Pat Carroll of Saint Joseph's, Allan Ray and Curtis Sumpter of Villanova, and Steven Smith of La Salle.
