COLLINS, DUPREE TOP AWARDS LIST AT TEMPLE'S BASKETBALL BANQUET

PHILADELPHIA -- Junior Mardy Collins of the Temple men's basketball team earned four major awards, including sharing the Jim Maloney Most Valuable Person Award with sophomore center Wayne Marshall while junior center Candice Dupree earned her second straight team Most Valuable Player Award for the Owls' women's team at the University's annual basketball banquet held Thursday night, April 7 at the Loews Hotel.
Collins also received the following awards: top rebounder, assist-to-turnover specialist and the Tim Claxton Award for loyalty, dedication and attitude to the University and community. Freshman Mark Tyndale was presented with the Harry Litwack Award for sportsmanship, dedication, devotion and conduct on and off the court.
Besides Dupree, who also received the team's top rebounder award, the Temple women's awards were highlighted by seniors Ari Moore (Unsung Hero and Top Foul Shooter) and Cynthia Jordan (Henry Sklar Award and Best Three-Point Shooer Award).
