RICHMOND, VA-After suffering six straight losses, the Temple University field hockey team rebounded with a resounding 2-0 shutout of the Virginia Commonwealth Rams on Friday afternoon.  The Owls improve to 2-6 on the season, while the Rams fall to 1-4.

Ali Lokey got Temple on the board with 10 minutes left to play in the first half, after earning a penalty stroke.  The goal was Lokey's second of the season.  Though the Rams tried to tally an equalizer, all attempts were denied, allowing the Owls to take a 1-0 lead going into the half.

Megan Hannahoe teamed with Lokey to score Temple's insurance goal off of a penalty corner just seven minutes into the half.

Down 2-0 with 5:32 left in the match, the Rams again appeared to get on the board when Rebecca Bosler launched a missile past the Owl goalie, but the ball deflected off the post, ending VCU's hope of a comeback.

Goalie Erin Hanshue earned four saves in the win.
