FIELD HOCKEY BLANKS DELAWARE, 1-0

PHILADELPHIA -- First year head coach Amanda Janney notched her first home win following Temple's 1-0 shutout of Delaware Friday afternoon at Geasey Field.  The win is the second straight for the Owls and the first over the Fightin' Blue Hens since the 2002 season.

Amid 13 shots and eight penalty corners registered in the first half, junior front-liner Lindsay Holman put the Owls ahead for good when she redirected a rebound past Delaware goalkeeper Megan Allen.  The goal was the all-conference honoree's seventh of the season.  While offense produced 10 total penalty corners, Alli Lokey led the charge registering six of the 21 Temple shots.

With leading scorer and second team All-American Amanda Warrington inactive, the Blue Hens could only post three shots on goal.  Defensively, Allen stopped 14 shots while senior Carly Campana recorded a defensive save.

While refusing to surrender a goal in her last 148 minutes of action, the shutout was freshman Erin Hanshue's second straight.  The Owls last posted back-to-back shutouts in 2003 when All-American Erin Conroy blanked Fairfield (10/5), UMass (10/10), and Rhode Island (10/12).

The Owls (3-6) remain at Geasey field Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. against Longwood University.
