RICHMOND - In their second overtime contest in as many meetings, Richmond junior forward Shannon Taylor's goal less than five minutes into overtime handed Temple a 2-1 loss in the semifinal round of the Atlantic 10 tournament. Temple freshman forward Kasey Ruth's tally at the 42:10 mark of the second half gave the Owls a one-goal advantage until Richmond senior forward Heather Wrublesky forced the extra session with just 43 ticks remaining in regulation. After the loss, the Cherry and White finish the season with a 13-7 mark, the most wins in the program's history since 1991.

The Owls only penalty corner of the scoreless first half, less than four minutes into the contest, resulted in their lone shot in the frame, off the stick of senior defender Megan Hannahoe, while the Spiders posted nine shots and three corners. Junior forward Shannon Taylor, the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, narrowly missed the game's first goal on two different occasions. After striking the post at the 10:10 mark, Taylor's shot from the top of the circle with less than a minute remaining sent Owls sophomore goalkeeper Erin Hanshue sprawling for one of her three first half saves.

On the Owls' second penalty corner of the contest, freshman forward Mandi Ruth's shot redirected off Richmond sophomore goalkeeper Becca Weaver and found Kasey Ruth for the game's first goal. The Owls nearly created a two-goal cushion on their next penalty corner as Weaver made point blank stops on junior midfielder Alli Lokey and freshman forward Charise Young. Despite five penalty corners from the Spiders in the second half and a 16-4 shot disadvantage, the Cherry and White retained the lead until a scramble in front resulted in Wrublesky's equalizing tally.

The overtime period, the Owls' tenth in eight extra session games this season, lasted just four minutes and 44 seconds before senior midfielder Jodi Murphy and freshman midfielder Jess Weidner set up Taylor for the game's winner.

Defensively, Hanshue collected five saves while Weaver tallied two. Owls senior defender Megan Hannahoe was also credited with a defensive save
