PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior guard Mark Tyndale has been declared eligible to compete on the men's basketball team for the remainder of the 2006-07 season. Tyndale, who sat out the first semester due to NCAA eligibility guidelines, met the academic requirements for intercollegiate competition following the completion of the University's fall semester.

"We are proud of his accomplishment in the classroom and we are looking forward to him rejoining the team," said Temple first-year coach Fran Dunphy.

Tyndale, a 6-5, 210-pound guard, led the Owls with a 5.1 rebound average during the 2005-06 season while placing third on the team in scoring (10.9 ppg.). The Philadelphia native (Simon Gratz HS) started all 32 games, ranking second on the team in assists (87), steals (73) and minutes played (36.4 mpg.).

Temple, 3-3 on the season, plays at Towson Saturday. The game, which tips off at 2:00 p.m., is being televised live by CN8 and can be heard on The Big Talker, 1210 WPHT.
