PHILADELPHIA - Temple field hockey coach Amanda Janney has announced the signing of 11 high school seniors to National Letters of Intent. Dannah Brehm (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle), Sarah Dalrymple (Hanover, Pa./South Western), Katey DeIaco (Alburtis, Pa./Emmaus), Ali Kelly (Hershey, Pa./Hershey), Laura Moyer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), Kasey Ruth (Schwenksville, Pa./Souderton), Mandi Ruth (Schwenksville, Pa./Souderton), Kate Stewart (Lititz, Pa./Warwick), Kristen Wanner (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley), Whitney Weiant (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) and Charise Young (Harleysville, Pa./Christopher Dock) have all committed to attend Temple next season.

This outstanding class features seven players who just participated in the 2006 United States Field Hockey Association (USFHA) National Indoor Tournament, four players who have played in the USFHA National Futures Tournament, three "Players of the Year," as determined by their local newspapers, three players on the 2005 NFHCA National High School Academic Squad, five team captains, two class presidents and three players who have earned over 100 points in their high school careers.

A two-time Sentinel Player of the Year, Brehm broke the Carlisle High School record for assists in a season, when she dished 26 in 2004. Captain of the Carlisle team that qualified for the Pennsylvania state tournament in 2005, Brehm scored 38 goals and had 47 assists in her four-year career. She was also twice named to The Patriot News Big 11 team as well as the All-Sentinel Girls field hockey team.

A versitile player that excells in the goalie, defender and midfielder positions, Dalrymple was voted the York Daily Record Player of the Year as well as the YA Varsity Player of the Year. A two-time Evening Sun and Gettysburg Times first team selection, Dalrymple participated in the USFHA Futures program as both a goalie and field player.

DeIaco led Emmaus to back to back Pennsylvania State titles in 2004 and 2005 and an undefeated record in 2005. The defender/forward was part of a team that was the Lehigh Valley Conference champion in 2004 and 2005 and the District IX champ in 2003, '04 and '05. She also played in the Keystone State Summer and Winter Games Tournaments as well as USFHA's National Indoor and Outdoor Tournaments.

A member of the Hershey High School team that qualified for the Pennsylvania State Tournament from 2002-05, Kelly was voted a Mid-Penn Conference first team All-Star as well as a Patriot News Big 11 second team selection in 2005. Kelly also received All-State Academic distinction during her senior season.

A two-time Lebanon Daily News All-Lebanon County Honorable Mention pick, Moyer was a second-team all-star in 2005 and a league All-Star honorable mention in 2004. During her junior season, Cedar Crest High School qualified for the Pennsylvania State Tournament by finishing fourth in District 3 AAA and second in the Section 1, Lancaster-Lebanon League. Teammate and fellow Owl recruit Weiant was also a Lancaster-Lebanon second-team all-star as well as a two-time Lebanon Daily News All-County Honorable Mention selection. A member of the Lancaster-Lebanon All-Academic Team, Weiant was named the Gatorade Team Rookie of the Year.

Twin sisters Kasey and Mandy Ruth led Souderton High School to a 21-4 record in 2005 on the way to a fourth place finish in the Pennylvania State Tournament, a Suburban One League Championship and a second place spot in the Continental League. The sisters were #1 and 2 in scoring on their high school squad. The North Penn Reporter's Player of the Year, Kasey was voted first team All-State and All-League and was also selected to the Pa. High School Field Hockey Coaches' Association All-State team. Mandi was a first team All-State, All-League and All-Area pick by The Independent. Both earned a spot on the NFHCA High School National Academic Squad and were active in the USFHA Futures program.

Stewart led Warwick High School to back-to-back Section 1, District 3 AAA and Lancaster/Lebanon League titles in 2004 and 2005. The squad was also a semi-finalist in the Pennsylvania State Tournament in 2004 and 2005. Stewart was voted a Lancaster/Lebanon League Section 1 second-team All-Star as well as a Section 1 Academic All-Star.

Wanner, a two-time All-Division III Honorable Mention and an All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2005, led Oley Valley High School to the State Championship game in 2003 and 2005. Her team was the Division III champion in '03, '04 and '05, the District runner-up in '04 and '05 and the Berks County Champion in '03, '04 and '05. A three-time Keystone Winter Games silver medalist, Wanner is active in both the indoor and outdoor USFHA Futures program.

A first-team All-State selection, Young led Christopher Dock to a Bicentennial Athletic League title in 2005. She was also voted First Team All-Bicentennial League as well as to the Montgomery Newspaper All-Area team last season.Young finished her career with 107 points off of 45 goals and 17 assists.
