CHARISE YOUNG NAMED A-10 FIELD HOCKEY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple freshman Charise Young has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Over the last three games, Young led all Temple scorers with five points on two goals and one assist.
Young scored the Owls' lone goals in their 1-0 shutout win over Rider (9/6) and 2-1 loss to first-ranked Maryland (9/9). In addition, the Harleysville, Pa. native set up junior Ashley Bird's tally in a 3-1 loss to 12th-ranked American. Through six games this season, Young leads all Owls with seven points and three assists while tying for the team-lead with two goals.
Temple field hockey returns to action Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at home against Monmouth.
