9.25.06 | Field Hockey
With the Owls riding a five-game win streak, the program's first of that length since 2002, Lokey has posted seven points and at least one in each contest over that same span. The junior midfielder scored the contest's only goal in the 1-0 shutout of the Dragons then fired her second overtime tally this season in the win over the Leopards. She also assisted on sophomore forward Emily Ziegler's first half goal in the win over the Blue Hens. Through 11 matches this season, Lokey ranks second on the Owls in goals (4) and is tied for the team-lead in points (12). She shares the A-10 honor with Richmond junior midfielder Shannon Taylor.
Mandi Ruth posted three points on one goal and one assist in the Owls three victories over Drexel, Delaware and Lafayette. Ruth's fifth goal of the season, at the 33:17 mark of the second half, downed the Blue Hens. She also dished her second assist of the season on freshman forward Charise Young's first half goal against Lafayette. Ruth leads all Owls in goals (5) while tying for the team-lead in points (12). This is the second time this season she has been honored as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.
The Owls return to action on at home on Sunday, October 1 against Longwood at 12:00 p.m.
