FIELD HOCKEY OUTLASTS RIDER, 1-0
9.6.06 | Field Hockey
PHILADELPHIA- Charise Young collected a rebound of the goalie's pads and scored a goal just four minutes into the game to give the Temple field hockey team a 1-0 win over visiting Rider on Wednesday night. The Owls improve to 3-1 on the season, while the Broncs fall to 1-2.
The Owls came out strong from the first whistle and took two quick shots before Young converted the goal at 3:15. Temple dominated the remainder of the game, firing away at Rider goalie Krysta Bearish, who earned four saves in the loss.
Rider continued to fight but was unable to get a shot off. The Broncs best chance to score came in the final minutes of the game but TU goalie Erin Hanshue quickly squashed any hope of an equalizer.
Temple is back in action on September 9 when they travel to face nationally ranked Maryland.
