Sophomore Jill Powers tipped Kazmierski's shot over Temple goalie Erin Hanshue and into the cage.

The game remained scoreless until Temple went on a three goal scoring spree. In a three minute time period the Owls turned the game around to hold a 3-1 advantage in goals. With eight minutes remaining in the half Temple was awarded a penalty corner. Senior Ashley Bird sent the ball toward cage where sophomore Kasey Ruth was waiting to tip the ball past Rhode Island goalie M.J. Britt. Two minutes later sophomore Mandi Ruth sent a pass up the center of the field to senior Alli Lokey, who scored the games second goal. The third goal, in the short three minute scoring spree, was off a similar play from Mandi Ruth and Lokey. Mandi Ruth dribbled the ball down the left side of the field and into Ram terriority where she found Lokey for the goal.

With two minutes remaining in the first half Lokey netted her third goal of the game off a cross from sophomore Dannah Brehm. Going into halftime the score was 4-1 and Temple out shot Rhode Island by one (13-12) and had one more penalty attempt (6-5).

Second half action began with the Owls scoring another goal only one minute and 23 seconds into the half. This time Temple capitalized on a penalty corner shot from senior Ashley Bird. The assist was credit to Lokey. At the 64 minute mark Temple scored its last goal for the day and Lokey's fourth. Junior Mary Catherine Kinneman crossed the ball into the center from the right side of the Rams circle. Lokey, positioned in front of the cage, finished the game for the Owls.
