WEST CHESTER, PA- All-American candidate Alli Lokey scored with less than a minute remaining to help Temple win its fifth straight conference game against West Chester, 2-1, at South Campus Turf Field. The win takes Temple to a 14-5 overall record and 5-1 Atlantic 10 record. West Chester now holds a 5-11 overall record and a 2-4 conference record.
Temple scored in the 23rd minute in the form of an unassisted shot from junior Mary Catherine Kinneman. She dribbled through three West Chester defenders in the defensive circle and beat Rams goalkeeper Joelle Zarefoss for the first tally of the afternoon.
West Chester's Sara Conrad tied the score at one with a goal off an assist from Marisa Holzman with five minutes remaining in the game. With 42 seconds left on the clock, Lokey scrambled for the ball in front of the cage and scored her 17th goal of the season.
The Owls held the advantage in penalty corners, 10-7, but was tied with West Chester in shots, 12-12. Junior goalkeeper Erin Hanshue recorded five saves in the game.
The Cherry and White will play its last regular season game at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27 at Saint Joseph's.
