Field Hockey Ranked 13 On NCAA RPI Poll

PHILADELPHIA- In the latest NCAA ratings percentage index the Temple field hockey team placed 13th overall, the NCAA announced October 15. The poll determines the NCAA tournament seedings at the end of the season. Temple boasts a 14-5 overall record this season. The Owls have won five straight conference games giving them a 5-1 record in the Atlantic 10. This is the first time Temple has had 14 wins since the 1991 season.
Temple defeated two Atlantic 10 members is past weekend, La Salle (4-1) and West Chester (2-1). In the Owls contest against West Chester, all-american candidate Alli Lokey scored with 42 seconds remaining in the game for the Owls fifth conference win.
With victories on Sunday, Temple and UMass move into a tie atop the Atlantic 10 at 5-1. Both teams have clinched a berth to the A-10 Tournament to be held in Philadelphia, November 2-3.
Lokey is tied for first in the nation in overall goals (17) and is second in overall points (42). Junior goalkeeper Erin Hanshue is ranked third in the nation for save percentage (0.823).
