Charise Young Named To Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Team

PHILADELPHIA - Temple sophomore midfielder Charise Young has been named to the 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Team. Young is one of 11 student-athletes selected to the team which is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Young, who has started every game of her collegiate career, scored one goal and dished seven assists for nine points in helping lead the Owls to a 15-5 overall record and the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title. The Harleysville, PA native (Christopher Dock HS) was equally impressive in the classroom, compiling a 3.97 cumulative grade point average as a secondary/social studies education major. She also earned Academic All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors.
Young is joined on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Team by Performer of the Year Jamie Carr of Widener, Bethany Pavlik of Delaware Valley, Emily Horvat and Colleen McAndrew of Drexel, Maria Allegretto of La Salle, Chelsea Ward of Neumann, Rebecca Cunfer of Saint Joseph's, Natalie Stone of Swarthmore, and Allison Boris and Sam Coveleski of Villanova University.
