Merry Christmas: Dionte Named A-10 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Junior guard Dionte Christmas was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 22. It is his fifth career A-10 weekly honor and first of this season.
Christmas, who shares the honor with Rhode Island's Will Daniels, registered his team-leading third double-double performance of the season on with game highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Owls to a 58-55 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday at the Liacouras Center. The win was the 100th for Temple in their 10-year old arena. The Philadelphia native shot eight-of-13 from the field, including 6-for-10 from beyond the arc. His 11 rebounds tied his career high. It was the ninth time in 11 games he has led Temple in scoring and his fifth 20-point performance of the season.
The Owls (6-5) next compete in the Orange Bowl Classic against two-time defending National Champion Florida on Saturday (6:30 PM/1210 AM WPHT) at the BankAtlantic Arena in Sunrise, FL.
