PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior Dionte Christmas has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending December 2. The Owl guard averaged 23 points, six rebounds and three assists over two games. It is the fourth Big 5 Player of the Week honor of his career.

Christmas was instrumental in the team's 90-88 win over Ohio on Nov. 29, scoring 29 points while making a career-high seven three-pointers on 10 attempts. He also led the Owls with 17 points in a 67-65 loss at Akron on Nov. 26. For the season he has led the Cherry and White in scoring in six of seven games and tops the squad with a 20.6 average.
