Mark Tyndale Named A-10/Big 5 Player Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior guard Mark Tyndale has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week and the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 17. The Philadelphia native (Simon Gratz HS) shares the A-10 honor with Rhode Island junior forward Will Daniels. It marks the fifth straight week, and sixth week overall, that a Temple player has been named A-10 Player of the Week.
Tyndale averaged 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in three games during the week, In Temple's 98-89 win over Massachusetts (Feb. 11), Tyndale scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished eight assists. In the Owls' 77-72 loss at La Salle (Feb. 14), he matched his career-high with 27 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field, and grabbed 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. In Saturday's 84-72 loss at George Washington, he set new career highs for points (33) and steals (5) while making 12-of-16 field goal attempts. For the week, he made 29-of-50 field goal attempts (58%)
Tyndale ranks third in the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring (18.4 ppg.) and is tied for first with teammate Dionte Christmas (20.7 ppg.) for scoring in league games. He also ranks fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (.528) and steals (1.58 spg.).
It is his second A-10 and Big 5 honor of the season. Christmas has been honored a A-10-high four times to account for Temple's six A-10 Player of the Week selections.
