Mark Tyndale Named A-10/Big 5 Player Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior guard Mark Tyndale has been named Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 4. The Philadelphia native (Simon Gratz HS) shares the A-10 honor with Xavier's Drew Lavender.
Tyndale averaged 24.5 points and 10 rebounds in leading the Owls to two wins during the week, In Temple's 80-59 victory at Richmond (Jan. 31), Tyndale matches his career-high with 27 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field, and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. He also dished four assists, made two steals and added a block in the win which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Against La Salle (Feb. 4), Tyndale scored a game-high 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting, and pulled down 10 rebounds in lifting the Owls to the 89-64 victory. He also led the Cherry and White with five assists and four steals.
For the week, Tyndale made 70 percent of his field goal attempts (21-30), and all six of his shots from the line. He also averaged 4.5 assists and three steals over the two games.
Tyndale ranks second on the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. His 19.6 scoring average in A-10 games places him fourth in the league.
