PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore midfielder Jamie Adams, the 2005 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year while at Rhode Island, has transferred to Temple and will be eligible to compete for head coach Amanda Janney in 2007.

"Jamie is going to be a great addition to our team with her experience as a two-year starter as a Division I center midfielder," said Janney. "She is a fantastic athlete who has the capability to help us strengthen our midfield line or she may compete for playing time as a forward."

Adams, a local product from Langhorne, Pa., started all 18 games for the Rams in 2006. The NFHCA All-Northeast Region second team performer tallied nine points on three goals and three assists. Awarded second team all-conference recognition, Adams tallied one game-winning goal.

In addition to garnering the Atlantic 10's top honor as a rookie in 2005, Adams also received second team and honorable mention all-conference honors after posting 18 points on six goals and six assists. The two-time conference Rookie of the Week selection also tallied two game-winning goals in wins over Maine (9/25/05) and LaSalle (10/16).

A three-time conference champion (2001, '03 & '04) at Neshaminy High School, Adams was twice named the Bucks County Courier Times Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004. The first team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania field hockey selection in 2005 also lettered in basketball and soccer.

Adams joins a Temple team in 2007 that was just 36 ticks from the Atlantic 10's championship game a year ago. After losing just one starter in NFHCA second team All-Mid Atlantic Region honoree Megan Hannahoe, Janney welcomes Adams to a formidable offensive attack featuring 2006 first team all-conference performer Alli Lokey, second team all-conference and all-rookie team selection Charise Young and all-rookie team honoree Mandi Ruth.

"The addition of Jamie, especially in the Spring when she can train with us for the first time, will definitely make this team stronger," Janney assured. "I know she is going to make great contributions as a student-athlete at Temple."
