Owls Look For Third Straight Win With Wednesday Game Against The Bonnies

PHILADELPHIA - Temple will look to win its third straight game when it hosts St. Bonaventure Wednesday night at the Liacouras Center (7:00 p.m.). The Owls (9-12, 3-5) enter play in 10th place in Atlantic 10 Conference play, one-half game ahead of the Bonnies (6-16, 3-6) in the standings. Junior Mark Tyndale has been on fire of late for the Owls. The 6-5 guard, who ranks second on the team with a 17.3 scoring average, earned both Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week honors for his performance last week. He scored a career-high 27, hitting 11 of 12 shot from the field in the Owls' 80-59 win at Richmond on Jan. 31, and then tallied a game-high 22 points in the Owls' 89-64 dismantling of La Salle Sunday.
Sophomore guard Dionte Christmas, the Atlantic 10 Conference's leadng scorer (21.1 ppg.), continues to excel despite playing with 17 stitches in his non-shooting hand. Christmas is ranked 13th nationally in scoring, 21st in free throw percentage (.890) and 28th in three-point percentage (.436).
Senior guard Dustin Salisbery is third on the team and eighth in the conference in scoring (16.6 ppg.) while senior forward Dion Dacons (7.0 ppg.) is ninth in the A-10 in rebounding (7.1 rpg.). Junior guard Chris Clark leads the Owls in assists (3.0 apg.) and his 3.50 assist-to-turnover ratio tops the A-10.
St. Bonaventure will be looking to snap an eight-game losing streak in the series with Temple and for its first win against the Owls on the road. Junior forward Michael Lee leads the Bonnies in scoring with a 14.0 average (6.0 rpg.) while senior center Paul Williams (12.0 ppg.) tops the squad and ranks fifth in the conference in rebounding (7.9 rpg.). Junior guard Zarryon Fereti (12.2 ppg.) provides a much-needed spark off the bench.
Temple owns a 46-6 advantage in the series.
