2007 Randy Lokey Memorial Field Hockey Tournament
Temple field hockey head coach Amanda Janney has announced that the "Hat Tricks and Shutouts" Clinic will take place on Saturday July 7, 2007 while the Randy Lokey Memorial Field Hockey Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Both events will take place at Temple's Geasey Field located on the corners of 15th and Norris Streets.
In addition to Janney, a 1999 graduate from Wake Forest, the "Hat Tricks and Shutouts" Clinic will include instructional lessons from Temple assistant coach Melissa Stubblefield (Lock Haven, '05), Temple field hockey players and other former and current Division I student-athletes. The cost of the clinic is $60.00 and will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The clinic will be organized through the Sweet Demon Field Hockey, LLC, an independent field hockey company owned and operated by Janney. All proceeds will be donated to the Temple University Field Hockey program.
The second annual Randy Lokey Memorial Field Hockey Tournament, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., guarantees each team at least four 25-minute games officiated by the tournament's staff. The tournament, costing each team $400, will be consist of girls between the grades of sixth and eighth grades, ages 11 to 14 and will be directed by Janney.
Janney is coming off her second season on North Broad Street and holds an overall mark of 24-13 entering her third campaign. In two seasons, the Temple mentor has guided the Owls to two consecutive Atlantic 10 tournaments and 13 different student-athletes to all-conference honors. A standout player as a Demon Deacon, Janney graduated ranked among the top 10 in goals (21) and assists (17) at Wake Forest.
