Join Independence Blue Cross and Grand Lodge of PA, Order Sons of Italy as they present the Fourth Annual Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall Gala, a spectacular Black Tie event that unifies Philadelphia's college basketball teams against a common foe - cancer.

The BasketBall Gala will be held at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue on Saturday, April 28, from 6:30 until midnight. The event will bring together the best of the Philadelphia basketball community for an elegant night of exquisite dining, live music and dancing, all while raising money to battle cancer.

Former Missouri Head Basketball Coach and Coaches vs. Cancer Founder, Norm Stewart will be honored at the event. With more than 500 people expected to attend, this year's goal is to raise over $400,000 for the American Cancer Society. In 2006, the gala raised $375,000.

"The BasketBall is a marquee event of the Philadelphia Coaches vs. Cancer program," said Dunphy, who is in his second year as the National Coaches Vs. Cancer chairman. "It is a fun evening which has helped to generate awareness and revenue in the fight against cancer."

Live Auction highlights include: catching a Phillies game with Coach Martelli and all your friends, a Penn State/Notre Dame Football Game Package, an all inclusive Cancun vacation, passes to all three Triple Crown horse races, a Trip to the 2008 Final Four, and the opportunity to play against the Coaches and their coaching staffs on the floor of the Palestra.

Ticket prices for the BasketBall Gala are $300 per person and $3,500 per corporate table (this includes 10 tickets and recognition in the event program).
