Temple Guard DaShone Kirkendoll Elects To Transfer

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University guard DaShone Kirkendoll has decided to forgo his senior season with the Owls' men's basketball program and transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility.
"We wish DaShone nothing but success in his future endeavors, on the court and in life," Temple head coach Fran Dunphy said.
Kirkendoll, a 6-5 guard out of Stebbins High in Dayton, Ohio, averaged a career high 4.2 points per game while hitting 39.3 percent from the field this past season. He played in 22 games with his lone start coming versus Saint Joseph's at the Palestra on February 22. His best game of the season came in Temple's 77-54 win over Rutgers at the Liacouras Center on November 29 when he drained six 3-pointers en route to scoring a career-high 20 points.
Kirkendoll played in 72 career games for the Owls, scoring 176 points (2.4 ppg.) and grabbing 51 rebounds (0.7 rpg.). He also played for Temple's baseball team in 2006 and 2007. The southpaw appeared in five games as a sophomore, four of which came out of the bullpen. His last appearance in a Temple baseball uniform came back on May 12 in a brief relief stint at Duquesne.
