PHILADELPHIA- Senior Alli Lokey netted two goals, including the game-winner in double overtime, to give Temple a 2-1 win over Drexel Wednesday afternoon. Five minutes into second overtime session, Lokey, given a pass by Junior Jamie Adams, dribbled around Drexel goalie Colleen McAndrew and placed the game-winner into the cage. The win moved Temple to a 6-3 record on the season and dropped Drexel to 4-5.

"I am really pleased with the tenacity and determination the team showed tonight in playing through the double overtime," said head coach Amanda Janney about the win. "The team really kept their composure on defense and Erin Hanshue came up with some really good saves."

Lokey scored six minutes into the game off a pass from sophomore Dannah Brehm. In the last two meetings with the Dragons, Lokey has scored the first goal in each game. The game continued scoreless until Drexel junior Catherine Chiara entered the game. With less than nine minutes remaining in the second half, she picked up a loose ball and found the back of the cage, sending the game into overtime.

The first overtime period went scoreless causing the game to spiral into a second overtime session. Lokey's double overtime goal marks her seventh goal of the season and her third game-winner.

"Lokey has a killer knack when it comes to scoring," said Janney. "She has a great awareness when she is in the circle and of where the goalie is. She is great under pressure and she has a sense of maturity about her that has really shown lately."

The Dragons out shot Temple 21-15, but the Owls prevailed in penalty corners 12-7. Today's game marked Temple goal keeper Erin Hanshue's highest save count of the season tallying 9 on the day.

The Owls will return home for first of a three game home stand against Vermont on September 21 at 2:00 p.m.
