PHILADELPHIA- Temple senior Alli Lokey has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player Of The Week for field hockey, the league office announced Monday. Over the last three games, Lokey led all Temple scorers with eight points on three goals and two assist.
With the Owls currently on a four game winning streak, Lokey has posted at least one point in each of the four contests. In the double overtime win against Drexel (2-1), Lokey scored both goals for the Owls. Lokey scored six minutes into the game off a pass from sophomore Dannah Brehm. In the last two meetings with Drexel, Lokey has scored the first goal in each game. Five minutes into second overtime session, Lokey, given a pass by junior Jamie Adams, dribbled around the Drexel goalie and placed the game-winner into the cage.
In Friday's overtime win against Vermont (2-1), Lokey tallied two assists with the second assist on the game winner. On Saturday the Owls took on Lafayette for a 2-0 victory. With ten minutes left in regulation, Lokey scored the Owl's second goal to put the game away.
Lokey currently leads the Atlantic 10 in six categories (shots, shots per game, points, points per game, goals, and goals per game). Through 11 matches this season, Lokey ranks first on the Owls in goals (8) and in points (21). She shares the A-10 honor with Rhode Island sophomore midfielder Jill Powers.
