Dionte Christmas Earns Second A-10 Player of Week Of Season

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior Dionte Christmas has been named co-Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 26. Christmas, who picks up his second A-10 weekly honor of the season and sixth of his career, shares the award with Saint Joseph's Pat Calathes.
Christmas, the A-10 scoring leader (20.8 ppg.), averaged 22.7 points and 4,3 rebounds per game in helping the Owls post a 2-1 record on the week. He also made five three-pointers in each of the team's games, and led the Cherry and White in scoring in each contest. He scored a game-high 20 points on Jan. 20 in the Owls' 54-53 (OT) victory at Saint Louis. He followed that with a game-high 24 points and added four rebounds and four assists as Temple downed Penn on Jan. 23, 80-64. On Saturday, he scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Owls' 68-67 loss to Saint Joseph's on Jan. 26. He now has scored 20 or more points in four straight games and 11 times on the season.
The Owls (9-9, 2-2) travel to Fordham for a Thursday Night game (8:00 p.m.) televised nationally on CSTV.
