PHILADELPHIA - Temple University All-America candidate Dionte Christmas has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Co-Player of the Week for the week ending November 23. It is the seventh Big 5 Player of the Week honor of his career.
Christmas, who shares the honor with Villanova senior forward Dante Cunningham, scored 29 points to lead Temple to a 71-55 win at Lafayette on November 21, the Owls only game of the week. The Philadelphia native shot 12-of-22 from the field and pulled down a career and game-high 12 rebounds in the contest. He also dished three assists, made three steals and four three-pointers. With the 29 points, Christmas moved up seven places on the Temple all-time scoring list and now ranks 16th with 1,476 points.
