Juan Fernandez Joins Temple Men's Basketball Team

PHILADELPHIA - Juan Fernandez, a standout player on the Argentina U 18 team that won the gold medal at the Tournament of the Americas, has officially enrolled at Temple University and will join the Owls men's basketball team starting with tonight's game at #16/18 Villanova. The 6-4 freshman guard will wear #4.

A native of Rio Tercero, Argentina, Fernandez averaged 8.4 points, 3.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 17 minutes in six games at the Tournament of the Americas held in Formosa. He saved his best game for his last, scoring a team-high 16 points in Argentina's 77-64 win over the United States in the gold medal game. He also had four rebounds, three steals and two assists in that contest.
