Mark Tyndale Named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University senior Mark Tyndale has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 17. Tyndale earns his first Big 5 weekly honor of the season and the fourth of his career.
The Philadelphia native (Simon Gratz HS) averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game to help the Owls to a 1-1 week. In a 92-89 overtime win over Rhode Island on Feb. 13, the 6-5 guard scored 24 points on 11-of -17 shooting from the field (2-5 from 3-point range). He also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and dished a team-high six assists. In a 77-66 loss at Dayton on Feb. 20, he tied for team honors with 19 points on six-of-eight field goal attempts and a perfect seven-of-seven from the foul line. He added four rebounds and five assists in the game.
On the year, the Temple co-captain ranks second on the team in scoring (16.2 ppg.) while leading the squad in rebounding (6.4 rpg.), assists (3.7 apg.) and steals (1.6 spg.).
The Owls (13-11, 6-4) travel to St. Bonaventure for a Wednesday Night game (7:00 p.m./1210 AM WPHT/OwlAccess).
