PHILADELPHIA - Head Coach Amanda Janney and the Temple field hockey team have announced the signing of Veronica Radice to the class of 2012. Radice joins Melissa Brinckman, Becca Keener, Kaylee Keener, Caryn Lambright, Bridget Settles and Carissa Young to round the incoming freshman for the 2008 season.

"We are excited that she is a local player who bring great experience from her Club team, Mystx, and from her High School," said Coach Janney. "She had outstanding coaches in both programs who highly recommended her. She is a talented and disciplined player who will compete for time in our midfield".

Radice, a native of Haverford, Pa, was the captain of a Haverford High School squad that went undefeated in the Central League and appeared in the PIAA AAA quarterfinals in 2007. For her efforts as a midfielder during her senior season, she was named First Team All-Delco, First Team All-Central League and awarded the Merry Tropp Award. She was also a member of the club team Mystx that captured back-to-back first places finished at the National Hockey Festival.

The Owls will open the 2008 season on August 30 when they host Lehigh from Geasy Field.
