Temple To Take On East Tennessee State In First Round Of Charleston Classic

Temple will open its 2008-09 men's basketball season against East Tennessee State on November 14 in the first round of the inaugural Charleston Classic, announced ESPN Regional Television today. The game, which will tip at 3:00 p.m., is the second of four opening round contests that day at the new Carolina First Center in Charleston, S.C.
The 2008 Charleston Classic field includes eight teams: College of Charleston, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Hofstra, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Temple, TCU and Western Michigan. Two of the teams, Clemson and Temple, played in the 2007-08 NCAA Tournament.
In the first round of action, TCU will take on Western Michigan at 12:30 p.m. in the first game to be played at the Carolina First Center. The Temple- ETSU game will follow with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville meeting the College of Charleston at 7:00 p.m., and Hofstra and Clemson will complete the night session at 9:30 p.m.
